This village has deep cultural and religious roots. The Chitravathi River in the village adds more charm to it. The major attraction of Puttaparthi is Prasanthi Nilayam, an ashram of Satya Sai Baba which was established in 1950. The most striking feature of the ashram is the museum which showcases wonderful models of different types of temple structures such as the Golden Temple of Amritsar and the Mecca mosque. Here you can also see the life history of the saint through pictures, starting from his birth to the time when he attained enlightenment.
