The rajputana Sheraton at Jaipur and the Jaypee Palace were excellent but The Park in Delhi, wasn't in the same level, the public spaces like corridor were dirty.
Excellent experience guided and suggested by an excellent tour conductor. Thanks a lot.
The dynamic city of Delhi flaunts a mesmerizing history. Today, after centuries of phenomenal growth, its citizens live in an urban space where new elements exist in parallel with old architectural monuments. Its not very difficult to spot ancient monuments existing quite near to modern uber-cool buildings. Though, at times, this new evolution does overshadow Delhi's historic marvels. Even though, the real organic value of most of the communities in Delhi is linked with the city’s history, tradition, heritage, culture, architecture and craftsmanship.
So, Delhi Heritage Walk lets you experience this magnificent bygone glory of the Delhi Sultanate. Its beyond words, pictures and imaginations.
We will escort you from the hotel and start our Delhi Heritage Walk, which covers the following attractions:
Lodi Garden heritage walk: Lauded for being one of the most beautiful and popular parks in Delhi, Lodi Garden is a hotspot for morning walks for the Delhiites. Here monuments are located amidst well manicured and landscaped gardens. The most prominent attractions are the 15th and 16th century tombs and a beautifully decorated mosque. There are smaller structures belonging to the late-Mughal period as well.
Nizamuddin heritage walk : This walk takes you to Jahanara Tomb, Mirza Ghalib Tomb, Nizamuddin Tomb & Sabj Burj. The focus of this area is the living shrine of the Sufi Saint Nizamuddin Aulia. Apart from the tomb of the saint, there is a 13th century mosque, several beautiful Mughal tombs and the tomb of Ghalib the great, Urdu poet of the 19th century. Ataga Khan Tomb, Barah Khamba, Chausath Khamba, Mohammed Shah Rangeela Tomb are a few other crypts here.
Hauz Khas Village Heritage walk: The entire complex is a paragon of serenity and repose which encompasses Ferozshah Tuglaq Tomb, the entrance to Hauz Khas Complex & Hauz Khas Pond. The highlights of this area are the 13th century reservoir which has now been revived. It now teems with bird life; and the buildings of a renowned Madarsa beside which is also the tomb of its royal founder, Firoz Shah Tughlaq. Several other pavilions, tombs and mosques are to be found in the surrounding park.
Later evening we will drop you at your hotel.
