Amber Fort

Situated on a small hillock, the imposing Amber Fort overlooks the 'pink city' of Jaipur. Its construction was started by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD, but was finally completed by Sawai Jai Singh in the eighteenth century. Formerly the ancient capital of the state of Jaipur, this architectural marvel is a perfect blend of Rajput and Mughal forms of architecture. Massive gateways, pavilions and archways adorn the Amber Fort, which is the most famous tourist attraction of Jaipur.
