Amritsar

In addition to the Golden Temple, you can visit several other Gurdwaras that trace their links with the Gurus. Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib and the Shahidi martyr's shrine are important religious centers, each having their own history. The monument of Indian Independence, Jalianwala Bagh is a grim reminder of one of the bloodiest chapters of India's freedom movement. It is a live testimonial to the Jalianwalah massacre in 1919. Woolen blankets and sweaters are quite cheap in Amritsar than in other parts of India. Katra Jaimal Singh in the old city is a good shopping area for collecting some exclusive souvenirs.

Pinjore Gardens

The special programs arranged at the Yadavindra Gardens for the Baisakhi (spring) festival in April and for the Mango Festival in June and July are the major tourist attractions for the tourists visiting Punjab.
