Excellent experience guided and suggested by an excellent tour conductor. Thanks a lot.

A dream destination for those willing to taste real India, Rajasthan is a pure beguiler. The state is known for celebrating a number of festivals, including Kajli Teej, the most flamboyant one. Kalji Teej festival is known for its uniqueness and elaborate celebrations. This month long event begins with the monsoon season of July and ends in August. Festivities of Bundi’s Kalji Teej are different from those solemnized in other parts of the state. While Bundi celebrates this festival on the third day of Bhadra, in other regions it is celebrated on the third day of the month of Shravana.

Kajli Teej festival of Bundi brings out the deeply rooted traditions and customs of the locals of Rajasthan in the most beautiful way. A grand procession of goddess Teej is carried through the local bazaars, ending at the Azad Park. Witnessing this spectacular procession is a treat for the eyes of beholders. The procession is made cheerful with performing artists, elephants, camels and Rajasthani folk dance forms.

Married couples of Bundi consider this festival as highly auspicious as it is believed that it strengthens the love bond and restore their ties of commitment and devotion.  Women folk hang decorated swings from the trees and swing all day long while singing cultural songs.

Travellers partaking in the festival can relish the local fair of Bundi where many renowned artists of Rajasthan showcase their skills. They can also bag locally made handicrafts such as bangles, attires, puppets, etc. to take back home as souvenirs.

All the festivities in Rajasthan underline the richness of the cultures sprinkled here and Kalji Teej festival of Bundi is no different. Partake in this stunning melange of Rajasthan’s wonders and eye the charms of real India.
