Parasailing in India

Billowing up in the blue skies has been a fascinating figment for long. It is a great experience for you to wallow over hills and valleys and rising slowly like a bird. And parasailing makes all this possible for you. Parasailing is carried with much vivacity and gusto in India. This recreational activity involves a person towed behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while attached to a parachute. Whether it is the laminar sea breezes of Goa or the more thermal flying conditions of the Western Ghats, whether it is the tiny bumps in the grounds or the table top land at Panchgani, India is perhaps the best destination that lets you fly high like a free bird. Except during the monsoons, Parasailing can be enjoyed throughout the year.

There are three methods of parasailing offered to the adventurers in India. Winchboat Parasailing, Beach Parasailing and Platform Parasailing. Among these, Winch boat parasailing is the most popular one. You can soar high in these regions:

Himachal Pradesh

  • Billing
  • Kullu
  • Solang
  • Lahaul & Spiti

Uttaranchal

  • Naukutchiyatal, Nainital
  • Dayara Bugyal, Garhwal
  • Dhanolti Ridge, Garhwal
  • Bedni Bugyal, Kumaun

Kangra valley is the most popular hub for gliding activities in Himachal Pradesh. Bir and Billing in Kangra are renowned for enjoying parasailing. Bijli Mahadev is an excellent site for hill launching and has ideal conditions for thermal soaring. Garhwal is a paradise for parasailers, with the Great Himalayas in North and the plains of Terai region in the south. The unique topography makes Garhwal an excellent destination for both experienced and beginner paragliders. Some ideal sailing sites include Naukutchiyatal in Nainital, Dayara Bugyal, Pratap Nagar, Dhanolti Ridge in Garhwal and Bedni Bugyal in Kumaon.

The open countryside of Rajasthan also offers gliding opportunities that can prove to be remarkable. These include Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Kota. Parasailing in Maharashtra is almost entirely on the Western Ghat hill range, which runs in an almost unbroken line from Gujarat in the north to the Nilgiri Hills on the southern tip of India. Popular parasailing areas, include the hill stations and fort sights of Maharashtra: Matheran, Deolali, Mahabaleshwar, Singhgad and Panchgani. Bogmalo beach park plaza resort, Hydro sports, Fort Aguada beach resort and Goan Banana's water sports provide parasailing in Goa.

Make your parasailing experience more contended and complete with life jackets, quick releases, helmets, wind meters, wind socks, feather flags, launch bar system, harness and double triple bar. You need to be physically fit and mentally strong to be alert and avoid hurdles for performing this sport but do not attempt stunts while performing it. You must parasail with a fully licensed company operating from a well-established location, insured by a licensed insurance company. Avoid para sailing in rain, fog and in close proximity to the shoreline, other boats and/or objects.

You can soar high and feel the vast blue skies. The very idea of sailing must have impregnate you with thrill. We welcome you to India to come and experience the euphoric expedition of Parasailing.
