Also known as Vizag, Visakhapatnam is a wonderful city gifted with amazing tourist attractions. It is the famous port city of Andhra Pradesh. Steeped in sheer natural beauty, it boasts of majestic hills, arresting beaches along the Bay of Bengal coastline and fascinating valleys. History
According to the legends, this city was named after the God Vaishaka. The city finds mention in the great Hindu epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata. During the 5th century BC, this town was a part of the Kalinga territory and Buddhist Empire also existed in this region. It was once ruled by the great King Ashoka.
The city is headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command. The beautiful rivers like Godavari and Indravati flow through this city, adding more charm to it. The city also boasts of three enchanting hills namely Sri Venkateswara Konda, Ross hill and Dargakonda.

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park
Hemmed in by hills, the Park is located amidst the picturesque eastern ghats of India. To the east of the Park lies Bay of Bengal. The Park is a home to several enchanting species of birds and mammals.
The other attractions of the city are Venkateswara Temple of Lord Shiva, Church of the Virgin Mary, VUDA Park, Baba Ishaq Madina Dargah, Simhachalam temple and Dolphin’s Nose ( a rocky promontory in the port).

Araku Valley
It is located around 115 km from Visakhapatnam and is famous for beautiful orchards and Ananthagiri Ghats.
Holding religious and historical significance, these caves are located at a distance of around 90 km from the city. Discovered in 1807, these caves look wondrous with its irregularly shaped stalactites and stalagmites.
