The train offers  7 nights & 8 days tour covering the following mesmerizing destinations: Srirangapatna, Mysore Palace, Nagarhole National Park (Kabini), Shravanabelagola, Belur (11th century cradle of Hoysala architecture), Halebidu, Hampi, Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, and the Golden Beaches of Goa.

History

The Golden Chariot Train got its name from the famous Stone Chariot in Hampi, a World Heritage Site. The train started its first journey on March 10, 2008.

Accommodation

The 19 purple and golden colored coaches of the train are fitted with best of facilities to make your stay memorable and comfortable. The interiors of the train are beautifully decorated with intricate carvings and ancient paintings giving it a royal look. The  accommodation units can be categorized into 26 twin beds cabins, 17 double bed cabins and 1 cabin for the physically challenged.

All the rooms are named after the dynasties which established their supremacy in Karnataka in the past- Kadamba, Hoysala, Rastrakota, Ganga, Chalukya, Bhahamani, Adhilshahi, Sangama, Shathavashna, Yudukula and Vijayanagar. All the wonderful cabins are well fitted with writing desk, Wi-Fi, LCD television, AC, DVD with 6 satellite channels, wardrobe, and private bathroom with finest of amenities and accessories.

Schedule

The train starts its journey from Bangalore on every Monday of the week.  Offering  7 nights & 8 days, the train takes its guests on a royal journey to various attractive destinations of India.

Dining

Pamper your taste buds at the two restaurants, namely Nala and Ruchi, of the Golden Chariot. Tastefully decorated, the restaurants serves a variety of culinary delights, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Nala got its name from a king and legendary chef from the times of the Mahabharata, while Ruchi is a Sanskrit word that means 'fine tastes'. There is also a Bar on board which is named as 'Madira'. It serves a variety of alcoholic drinks. Its royal setting is truly mesmerizing.

Conference facilities

Conference Coach is the place inside the train where business meetings and conferences can be held without any hassle. Offering accommodation capacity of 30 people, the room is equipped with modern facilities.

Rejuvenation

To rejuvenate you to the hilt, the train offers health center providing best of Ayurveda, Spa and Gym facilities.
