Encompassing an area of 15 acres and the forested estate surrounded by tea gardens in the Kangra valley, The Taragarh Palace is one of the most scenic and unexplored areas of Himachal Pradesh. Formerly known as Alhilal (land of the crescent moon), the palace was built in the early 1930s as a summer resort. Taragarh Palace is at the foot of the Dhauladhar Mountains at a height of 1000 metres with a magnificent view of snow-capped peaks. Now it is run as a heritage hotel in Taragarh.
