Day 01 Arrive Leh
Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport, one of the most sensational flights in the world. On a clear day, you can see the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum, and the Nun Kun massif. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Rest and leisure to acclimatize, followed by welcome tea/coffee at the hotel.
Evening visit to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Leh to Sham Valley (75 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive downstream along the Indus River on Leh-Kargil Highway. Enroute visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic Hill that defies the law of gravity. Continue to the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers and visit Likir Monastery, featuring a colossal gilded image of Maitreya Buddha.
Drive further to Uletokpo or Tingmosgang, visiting Ridzong Monastery with an option to walk up to the monastery. Check-in at camp/hotel for overnight stay.
Day 03 Sham Valley to Leh via Lamayuru (180 km / 5–6 hrs)
Drive to the 11th-century Lamayuru Monastery enroute visiting the stunning Moon Landscapes. On the return to Leh, visit Alchi Gompa, the celebrated monastery complex from the 11th century, and Basgo ruins, the 15th-century capital of Ladakh. Overnight stay at Leh hotel.
Day 04 Leh to Pangong Lake (140 km / 4–5 hrs one way)
Drive to Pangong Lake via Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, and the "3 Idiots" Rancho School location. Ascend Chang La Pass (5,486 m) with scenic stops enroute. Arrive at Pangong Lake at 14,000 ft, 5–6 km wide and over 133 km long, straddling the India-China border. Check-in at camp. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 05 Pangong Lake to Leh (140 km / 6 hrs)
Morning at leisure to explore the lake. Drive back to Leh visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest Drukpa Kagyu monastic foundation. Check-in at hotel and relax. Overnight at Leh hotel.
Day 06 Leh – Excursion to Khardung La Top (18,390 ft / 39 km / 2 hrs one way)
After breakfast, drive to Khardung La, the highest motorable road in the world at 5,602 m (18,390 ft). Enjoy panoramic views of the Indus Valley, Zanskar range, and Saser massif. Return to hotel for lunch. Afternoon free for shopping or leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 07 Depart Leh (Fly Out)
Tour concludes. Transfer to Leh Domestic Airport for onward journey. We thank you for your patronage and look forward to serving you again.
