India and COVID-19 an Update - X

India's COVID-19 tally has surpassed 5.6 million i.e. 56, 46,011 today. However 45, 87,613 people have recovered which is above 81% of the total cases and the largest no. in the world. Active cases are merely around 17% viz. 9, 68,377 which shows the decrease in active no. of cases from past week. The fatality rate has further decreased to 1.59% with 90,021.

It seems India will witness the flatten curve very soon as for the first time there is sharp decrease in active no. of cases. Continuing the positive recovery trend, India for the fifth consecutive day recorded more daily recoveries than the number of fresh cases ? in the same span of time. The change in the trend started from September 19. When the number of recoveries surpass the number of active cases, it is considered as an indication of “flattening the curve” worldwide. But the trend has to go on for a number of days before it can be said that the curve has been flattened.
