India and COVID-19 an Update - III

Covid-19 cases in India has crossed 2.5 lakhs mark but there is a sight of relief with surge in recovery cases. As on 08 June, the active cases are 1,29,917 whereas the cases recovered are 1,29,214, inching towards  the 50% of the cases. Very soon the recovery will even speed up and India will get the flatten curve for COVID-19 cases and it will further start decreasing. Another factor of relief is the fatality rate which is comparatively very low with the countries having same no. of cases or even lower.

Now India has entered into the UNLOCK phase with the beginning of Unlock 1.0 from 01 of June. Almost all the commercial activities has been started and the ban has been lifted for all entitlements except school, colleges and theatres. From 08 of June even the hospitality and service industry has opened its arms by opening the hotels, restaurants and other eateries as well as the monuments of touristic importance. Now Travel industry will witness the beginning of travel business starting from domestic traveller until the international boundaries are open and Visa being issued to international travellers. Even the hotels, eateries and transport are ready to welcome their guests following all the guidelines strictly as issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) in consultation with respective departments and stakeholders to ensure social distancing and to contain the further spread of COVID-19.
