India and COVID-19 an Update - VII

As India has already taken over Russia in acquiring the 3rd position in Global COVID-19 cases table with around 9.37 Lakhs cases; recovery rate has further increased to 63% and fatality rate remains constant with 3%. Actives cases have further gone down to 34% despite the fact India has got new high in active cases daily.




As India continuing further in Unlock 2.0, more hotels and states are opening their door for tourism. As Goa has already opened followed by Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand, now Jammu & Kashmir has also opened its door for the guests. All these states has issued the guidelines and SOPs to allow activities and operations in a calibrated manner.

India is in advanced stages of talks with US, Canada and European countries to create individual travel bubbles with them and international flights may soon resume on some of these routes. The aviation ministry’s discussion with countries for bilateral bubbles is at a “very advanced” level and the effort is to restart international flights at the earliest.

Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the custodian of heritage monuments in India under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India has decided to open all the centrally protected monuments and museums in the country to the public from July 6.? However, monuments situated in the containment zones will remain shut. As per the SOPs released by the government, the entry will be restricted through e-tickets and no across-the-counter physical tickets will be issued. All the payments at the parking, cafeteria, etc. will be digital. Visitors have to observe strict timings inside the monuments and museums to avoid crowding of people.

However, the Agra district administration has decided to postpone the reopening of the monuments in Agra, as the dreaded coronavirus was still on the rampage. (Source ? ET Travel World)
