India and COVID-19 an Update - VIII

Despite the fact; few states of India has got its peak and overall cases touching new highs with total no. of cases crossed to 15.5 12 lakhs, recovery rate remains same with almost 01 Million recovery and fatality rate continue to seize around 2% only.

COVID UPDATE INDIA - As India is entering to UNLOCK 3.0 from 01st of August, more relaxation has been granted by Government. Gymnasium and Yoga Institute will be operational after almost 04 months, however all activities will be closed inside the containment zones.

Delhi has delinked hotels from respective hospitals as the actives cases in Delhi is quite low and many beds in COVID Hospitals remain vacant. These hotels will now start welcoming guests as they are scheduled to start operations from 05th of August in a calibrated manner.

COVID & TRAVEL - Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has recommended easing of restrictions on the travel, tourism and hospitality segment. The recommendations ask for allowing Indian and foreign carriers to operate between two countries with health protocols in place. They also feel that the country should allow international travel after accepting the Covid Negative Certificate issued by the country of origin, waiving off the quarantine period. Standard Quarantine Protocol should be issued by MoHFW and that should be followed by all states to facilitate smooth transit. To make this happen, India should start issuing visas to tourists in the ‘Safe Corridors’.

A per World Health Organization; bans on international travel cannot stay in place indefinitely, and countries are going to have to do more to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus within their borders., Only with strict adherence to health measures, from wearing masks to avoiding crowds, would the world manage to beat the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID & VACCINE - A report said the Gamaleya, the Russian vaccine is likely to get “conditional registration” in August, meaning it would be approved for use, even as phase-III trials are carried out.

Similarly Vaccine developed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in partnership with the University of Oxford, has started large scale production of Vaccine which is already in large-scale human trials.
