Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Saturday (Bengaluru to Mysore)

  • Registration and Check in at Yashwantpur Railway Station from 08:30 hrs onwards
  • Departure from YPR(09:45 hrs).
  • Lunch onboard as train arrives into Mysore (14:15 hrs).
  • Proceed to Visit Mysore Palace at 15:00 hrs.
  • Return to train as train proceeds to Chengalpattu (CGL).
  • Dinner onboard

Day 2 Sunday (Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram)

  • Breakfast onboard as train arrives into Chengalpattu Raiway Station.
  • Forenoon optional excursion to Kanchipuram.
  • Lunch onboard.
  • Visit to Mahabalipuram Monuments.
  • Dinner at a beachfront hotel.
  • Return to train and Train proceeds to Thanjavu

Day 3 Monday (Thanjavur-Chettinad/Karaikudi)

  • Breakfast onboard.
  • Deboard at 09:00.
  • Lunch onboard as train proceeds to Chettinad.
  • Visit the Athnagudi tile factory and Chettinad mansions.
  • Return on train for Dinner onboard.
  • Train proceeds to Cochin.

Day 4 Tuesday (Cochin)

  • Breakfast onboard as train arrives at Cochin Harbour Terminus.
  • Visit Matancherry Palace in Fort Cochin followed by Dance performances of Kerala.
  • Return to train for Lunch.
  • Deboard for optional activities to Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church.
  • Dinner onboard and train proceeds to Kumarakom.

Day 5 Wednesday (Chertala/Maraikulam )

  • Onboard breakfast.
  • Houseboat cruise with lunch at an exclusive venue.
  • Return to the train by evening.
  • Dinner onboard.

Day 6 Thursday (Bengaluru )

  • Breakfast onboard.
  • Deboard at Bengaluru (YPR).

  • Services of Paramedic On-board.
  • For guests booked in Deluxe Cabin, the transport would be a Volvo bus/Tempo traveller/Volkswagen crafter with a common English speaking guide depending on the number of pax.


Exclusions

  • Any optional tours as mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Taxes, Insurance, Gratuities.
  • Telephone calls, laundry, alcoholic beverages (apart from the house brands of wines, spirits, beer served in the restaurants, bar and of board excursions).
  • Video, film and professional still camera fees.
  • Arrival and departure transfers.
  • International and domestic air tickets.
  • Pre and post tour accommodation and any tour extensions are not included unless specifically mentioned as part of the journeys.


PAYMENT TERMS

In case of FIT’s:

  • 20% of the published price plus applicable taxes at the time of confirming the booking along with names and passport copy.
  • Balance payment 60 days prior to the departure.

Special Note:

  • Name with details required at the time of booking except as provided. Name change is allowed upto 45 days prior to departure.
  • Only one date change may be permitted upto 45 days prior to departure subject to availability. No refund in case of difference of tariff. The difference of tariff to be paid in case of higher tariff for the scheduled departure.
  • Either name change or date change will be allowed not both as stated above.

In case of Group Booking (Group booking means booking of at least 14 paid adults travelling together on particular departure).

  • 10% of the published price plus applicable taxes at the time of confirming the booking.
  • Next 15% (i.e. cumulative 25%) of published price 90 days prior to departure.
  • Balance payment 60 days prior to departure.
  • Naming list needs to be submitted 45 days prior to departure for the purpose of insurance, off board services, cabin allotment etc.

Special Note:

  • 20% of the group strength may be allowed for name change upto 7 days prior to departure.
  • No date change is permitted. However, for series operators who are giving group booking for three or more departures in a season or a calendar year will be allowed change of date from one group departure to other group departure/s subject to minimum 14 paid adults in each departure or equivalent to 42 (14x3) paid adults in any scenario. In case there is a difference of amount if any shall be payable or adjusted or refundable, as the case may be.
  • Washout (full refund without any cancellation charges):
  • 10% of the group strength may be allowed for washout upto 7 days prior to departure subject to a minimum of 14 paid adults upto 21 pax bookings (rounded off).
  • 15% of the group strength may be allowed for washout upto 7 days prior to departure subject to a minimum of 14 paid adults upto 35 pax bookings (rounded off).
  • 20% of the group strength may be allowed for washout upto 7 days prior to departure subject to a minimum of 14 paid adults upto 49 pax bookings (rounded off).

For example:

21 pax blocked and 10% washout means 19 pax stands confirmed by allowing 02 pax full refunds and 01 FOC as per policy.

In case of full train booking (Booking of the full train for a scheduled departure)

  • 10% of the published price plus applicable taxes at the time of confirming the booking.
  • Next 15% (i.e. cumulative 25%) of published price 120 days prior to departure.
  • Balance payment 60 days prior to departure.
  • Naming list needs to be submitted 45 days prior to departure for the purpose of insurance, off board services, cabin allotment etc.
  • In case of Full Train Bookings during Christmas, New Year, Signature Journeys etc, the Supplement Cost in full shall be payable at the time of booking which shall be non refundable .

Special Note:

  • 20% of the group strength may be allowed for name change upto 7 days prior to departure.
  • No date change is permitted.
  • No refund is permissible in case the actual passengers travelling are less than the minimum granted pax i.e53/60 paid pax
  • Washout (full refund without any cancellation charges): 20% of the group strength may be allowed for washout upto 7 days prior to departure subject to a minimum of 53/60 paid adults upto (78+06FOC) pax booking (rounded off, add the weighted average cost).

For example:

78 pax blocked and 20% washout means 62 pax stands confirmed by allowing 16 pax full refunds and 04 FOC as per policy.

In case of full train booking by single agent / operator minimum 53 paid adults will be paid with 04 FOC on twin sharing basis as per the weighted average cost per pax per day basis calculated on 84 pax total capacity as follow 53 pax in Deluxe Cabins on a particular trip by single party. However, for departures falling between the period from 15th Dec to 15th Jan, the minimum paid pax for full train booking will be (60+4FOC) paid adults in place of (53+4FOC) pax. The maximum carrying capacity would be (78+06FOC), so any extra pax over and above (53+4FOC) pax or (60+4FOC) will be chargeable as per 50% of the weighted average cost per pax per day basis subject to FOC policy.

In case of Charter Booking (booking of the full train for a modified/different itinerary during season or any booking outside the announced departures):

  • 10% of the agreed price plus applicable taxes at the time of confirming the booking.
  • Next 15% (i.e. cumulative 25%) of agreed price 120 days prior to departure.
  • Balance payment 60 days prior to departure.
  • Naming list needs to be submitted 45 days prior to departure for the purpose of insurance, off board services, cabin allotment etc.

Special Note:

  • Name change upto 7 days prior to departure would be allowed subject to operational feasibility.
  • Date change is permitted upto 60 days prior to departure subject to operational feasibility and extra charges if any.
  • Haulage will be charged for a minimum of 18 coahes and may increase subject to cabin choosen and will be charged accordingly.
  • Washout (full refund without any cancellation charges): No refund is permissible for the difference in minimum guaranteed pax i.e 60 paid adult pax. If the actual number of pax travelled is less than the granted pax (over and above 60 pax) a refund/ washout may be permitted.

For example:

(78+06FOC) pax blocked, washout over and above 60 pax means 60 pax stands confirmed by allowing 18 pax full refunds and 04 FOC as per policy

Cancellations:
For any cancellation days are counted excluding the date of departure

In case of FIT’s:

  • 60 days or more prior to departure, 20 % of published price.v
  • 45 to 59 days prior to departure, 40% of the nett amount.
  • 0 to 44 days prior to departure, 100% of the nett amount.

In case of Group Booking:

  • 120 days or more prior to departure, 5% of published price.
  • 90 to 119 days prior to departure, 10% of published price.
  • 60 to 89 days prior to departure, 25 % of nett amount.
  • 30 to 59 days prior to departure, 50% of the nett amount.
  • 0 to 29 days prior to departure, 100% of the nett amount.

In case of Full Train Booking:

  • 120 days or more prior to departure, 10 % of weighted average cost.
  • 90 to 119 days, 25% cancellation charge of the weighted average cost.
  • 60 to 89 days, 50% cancellation charge of the nett amount.
  • 0 to 59 days or less prior to departure, 100% cancellation charge of the nett amount.

In case of Charter Booking:

  • Upto 90 days or more prior to departure Rs 5 Lakhs shall be charged as cancellation charges.
  • 60 to 89 days, 10% cancellation charges of the nett amount or Rs.5 Lakhs whichever is higher.
  • 30 to 59 days, 25% cancellation charges of the nett amount or Rs.5 lakhs whichever is higher.
  • 0 to 29 days prior to departure 100% of the nett amount or Rs.5 lakhs whichever is higher.

Note:
The cancellation charges are exclusive of taxes.Government taxes extra as applicable.

REFUND
IRCTC reserves the right to determine the amount of refund value in case of cancellation and amendments. The decision on the quantum of refund will be final as that made by IRCTC. The refund will be made in the name of the IA/TA/PSA. There will be no refund for unutilized services unless specified. In no circumstances whatever shall the IA/ TA/ PSA make or promise any refund on or in respect of the tours, deviations in route/service or vouchers supplied by IRCTC without previous reference to IRCTC and by its written authority. Where the IA/ TA/ PSA makes such representations, the IA/ TA/ PSA would be solely responsible and incur full liability for such representation including but not limited to damages, compensation and specific performance. The refund amount (if any) will be calculated as per the amount received in our account in INR.

Other Terms & Condition

Tour Leader Policy:

  • One FOC per 14 paid adults in Deluxe Cabins (group) on the same departure will be provided on single occupancy basis in deluxe cabin, subject to availability of similar category of cabin.

No show/enroute termination of tour/amendment:

  • In case of No Show/non-arrival of the guest, no Refund/adjustment in future travel will be admissible.
  • En route termination of tour: In case of termination of tour by the guest, no refund/adjustment for future travel will be made.
  • Amendment: is admissible only during the serious health problems (supported by Doctor certificate) and is entirely at discretion of IRCTC and further subject to availability of the seats. No refunds are permissible. Every case will be decided on merit and case-to-case basis. No amendment is permissible in case of booking of groups or full train booking or charters.

CHILD POLICY
Golden Chariot does accommodate children but we ask parents to be mindful of the sophisticated adult atmosphere we endeavour to maintain.

For Deluxe

  • Children below 5 years shall be allowed free, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
  • Single child (5 years - 12 years) sharing cabin with adults - 50% of the adult fare, subject to sharing of double bed with two full paid adults. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.

OR

  • Single child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the (adult fare + Supplement charges) if requested in a separate cabin.
  • Two child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child in a separate cabin on twin sharing basis.
  • Three child (5 years - 12 years) in a separate cabin - 50% of the adult fare for each child subject to sharing of double bed.

OR

If third child request in a separate cabin - 50% of the (adult fare + Single Supplement charges)

  • Single child (5 years -12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin: - Two adults fare on twin sharing basis.
  • Two child (5 years -12 years) + one adult in a separate cabin: - One adult fare plus 50% of the adult fare for each child subject to sharing of double bed.

Policy on Guide/Vehicle
Policy on Guide (Cabins Deluxe) for the season:

We will provide a Local English/ Language speaking local guide at each destinations on complimentary basis.

Note:

  • In case guests desire for accompanying English/ Language speaking accompanying guide throughout the tour, it will be provided on chargeable basis subject to availability.
  • In some of the destinations language speaking local guides are not available. Whereas language speaking local guides at those locations will be tried but not guaranteed, we will provide English speaking local guides.

Policy on Guide with separate vehicle for Group Bookings for the season:
In case, a group desires a separate vehicle/guide the policy will be followed as under:

  • For a group (14+1 pax or more) an air-conditioned deluxe bus with local English/ language speaking local guide may be provided on complimentary basis but a Volvo Bus can be provided at supplement cost.
  • For a group (28+2 pax or more) Volvo bus with local English /language speaking local guide may be provided on complimentary basis.

Note:

  • In case guests desire for accompanying English/ Language speaking accompanying guide throughout the tour, it will be provided on chargeable basis subject to availability.
  • In some of the destinations language speaking local guides are not available. Whereas language speaking local guides at those locations will be tried but not guaranteed, we will provide English speaking local guides.

Policy on Guide with separate vehicle for Full Train and Charter Bookings for the season:

  • For Charter & Full Train booking the sightseeing shall be provided on sharing seat in coach basis and English Speaking/ Language speaking Local Guides on complimentary basis.
  • For Exclusive Vehicles or accompanying English/ Language Guides a supplement cost shall be charged.

Policy on deboarding enroute for shorter itineraries:

The cost for the itineraries may be reduced by 10% of the published tariff, if guest is availing 4th Day or 5th Day or 6th Day package and can deboard at Hampi/Badami/Goa after availing off board services at Hampi or Badami or Goa.

Changes and cancellation by IRCTC prior to your departure:

The journeys are planned well in advance. We reserve the right to make changes to the programme if necessary at any point of time. Should the minimum number of passengers not be met or due to certain operational reasons and conditions, we reserve the right to cancel the departure or amend the same. Operation of All the journeys are subject to a minimum number of passengers. In case the minimum numbers of passengers are not mustered, IRCTC reserves the right to offer the client an alternate departure date or an alternate journey or a refund. In the unlikely such eventuality, 30 days advance intimation may be given, wherever possible. The refund would be subject to the booking terms and conditions of IRCTC. Most changes made by us would be minor, but on certain occasions there could be a possibility of making a significant change. A change is defined as significant if it involves a change of destination or date of departure. In such an eventuality, we would inform you as soon as possible and provide you with the following solutions:

  • Accepting the changed arrangements or
  • Purchasing alternative arrangements from us, similar in standard as originally booked if available with the applicable cost adjustment or
  • Cancelling or accepting the cancellation where you will receive a refund of the payment remitted to us. However, there will be no refund for any service such as pre / post accommodation, airline tickets, excursions, extensions etc. that have been booked by you and / or your Travel Agent.

In case of a 'force majeure' (please refer to details mentioned below) situation due to which a departure has to be cancelled, we regret there would be no refund of the monies paid to us or reimbursement of any additional expenses incurred by you as a result of our cancellation / change.
