History

The history of this enchanting city goes back to 500 hundred years ago when it was among the wealthiest states of India. It witnessed the rule of several rulers like as Muhammad Quli Shah, the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Asaf Jah who ruled here for centuries.

Charminar

Synonymous with Hyderabad, it is a famous mosque which is a wonderful piece of architecture. It was built in the year 1591 by Mohammad Quli Qutab Shah. Its Cazia style of architecture with intricate carvings is its striking feature. The legend goes that the Nawab built it to commemorate the elimination of a plague epidemic from this city.


Golconda Fort

Located 11 km from Hyderabad city, this fort was built in the 13th century by the Kakatiya kings. Later more structures were added to it by Qutub Shahi Kings. Built on a granite hill, the fort has around 87 bastions. One of the striking features of the fort is that if you clap hands at the entry gate, the sound produced can be heard at the top of the hill (91 m high).


Chowmahalla Palace

It is a magnificent palace designed by combining different styles of architecture. This stunning palace was the abode of the Nizam in the bygone era. Still retaining its old-world charm, it was built in the year 1750.


Falaknuma Palace

Fashioned in the form of a Scorpio, the Palace was built in Italian marble. Dating back to the year 1884, the palace is renowned for its rare collection of Jade (an ornamental stone).


Shopping in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is famous for its beautiful and shining pearls so one must buy pearls on their Hyderabad Tour.
