This is among the popular temples of Goa situated amidst an enchanting landscape teeming with lush greenery in Shristhal village, Canacona taluka, South Goa district. The temple was built by the ancestors of the Kshatriya Samaj in 16th century and dedicated to Lord Mallikarjun, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The temple is as an assembly of exquisitely carved wooden pillars inside the temple building. The six pillars in the mandap are decorated with scenes from the Puranas and epic of Mahabharata.

Mahalakshmi Temple

This is another most popular temple of Goa located in the heart of Panji City. The temple is dedicated to the Mahalaxmi, the Goddess of wealth. It is famous for its sabhamandap which has a gallery of 18 images of Lord Vishnu. The Maruti Jatra festival, held during January-February, calls on a large number of devotees during its celebration.

Shri Mahalsa Temple

This is another famous temple of Goa located in the Mardol village Ponda. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalsa, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple is famous for its six-storied ‘deepstambha’ or ornamental lamp pillar in the courtyard. This pillar is 40 feet in height and has 21 rings of a hundred fifty small lamps.  This lamp pillar is lit up on occasion of annual festival day or Jatra, the Jaiyanchi Puja held in August and the Kojagiri Pornima.
