History
The history of this enchanting city dates back over 500 years, when it was among the wealthiest cities in India. Most Famous Attractions of Hyderabad Tour:
Synonymous with Hyderabad, Charminar is a historic mosque and an outstanding example of Indo-Islamic architecture. It was built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. Its Cazia-style architecture, adorned with intricate carvings, is a striking feature. According to legend, the monument was constructed to commemorate the eradication of a plague epidemic from the city.
Located about 11 km from Hyderabad city, Golconda Fort was originally built in the 13th century by the Kakatiya kings. Later, the Qutb Shahi rulers expanded the fort with additional structures. Built atop a granite hill, the fort comprises nearly 87 bastions. One of its most remarkable features is its acoustics—clapping at the entrance gate produces a sound that can be heard clearly at the top of the hill, approximately 91 meters high.
Chowmahalla Palace
This magnificent palace is a blend of various architectural styles and once served as the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad. Built in 1750, Chowmahalla Palace still retains its regal charm and grandeur.
Falaknuma Palace
Designed in the shape of a scorpion, Falaknuma Palace was built using Italian marble and dates back to 1884. The palace is renowned for its rare collection of jade artifacts and luxurious interiors.
