Introduction
Jowai is a beautiful city of Meghalaya, India. This is also famous as the headquarters of Jaintia Hills. Snuggled in the arms of Myntdu river(which surround this region from three sides), the region shares its boundary with Bangladesh to the south. Syntu Ksiar
Syntu Ksiar perfectly withstands the beauty of the name, which means 'Golden Flower'. This beautiful and hidden destination has a heavenly charm that allures tourists from far-flung regions. Loaded with the natural beauty, the region also enjoys richness in the history. It is valued for being the centre of Kiang Nangbah's freedom struggle. To mark the significance, a memorial of Kiang Nangbah has been established here.
Jowai Presbyterian Church
Established by Welsh Presbyterian Mission, the church is around 150 years old. It is one of the oldest churches in the region. Another highlight of the church is its architecture. It is amongst the few architectures that were built in British form of architecture. With its peaceful environment and old architecture, it allures tourists from different locations across the globe.
Thadlaskein lake
This is one of its kind attraction in Jowai. It has great history that speaks about rebel, struggle and the journey of escape of people of around 290 tribes. Dug by people, the lake is a worth visiting place for history lovers and beauty admirers. Till date, the lake is revered for the people who sacrificed here.

Ialong Park and Nartiang Monoliths are other attractions in the region that have made it popular across the globe. Tourists visit the land to experience the magical aura and beauty of the region. Supported with different facts, figures and legends, the region is now listed amongst the must visit places of the travel freaks.

Being a hidden destination, it does not have much to offer to the visitors. Although, there are few accommodation options available in the region but still it is advised to book the place in advance or stay in the nearby locations.
How to Reach
By Road: Tourists can hire a private vehicle to reach Jowai. State transport is also available from all the nearby cities and states. After reaching Shillong, tourists need to take a road route to reach the destination.
