History
As per legend, the hill station of Kasauli was created by the feet of Lord Hanuman. While on his journey to Sanjeevani Hill, to get herb for Laxman (Lord Ram?s brother); he placed his feet here. Later in 17th century, Rajputs from Rewari Haryana settled in a town that they named Kasul. Some people say, Kasauli got its name from the mountain stream Kausalya that flows near this hill station. As time went by, the region became a part of the Gurkha expansion and later was turned into a sanatorium and cantonment in 1842.
