Cultural capital of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, Almora is synonymous to natural brilliance. There are four hill ranges around it; namely Banari Devi, Shayahi Devi, Kasar Devi and Katarnal. The first three have temples of Goddesses on the peaks whereas the fourth one has a Sun temple. Almora also has a museum that speaks volumes about the culture of Kumaon. The city also has a deer park on its periphery.
This hill station of Uttarakhand offers unhindered views of the mountains, especially the peaks of Nanda Devi and Trishul. Along with the regal mountains and pine trees, the climate of Kausani is so amiable that tourists come here all through the year.
In popularity and fame, Nainital ranks right up there with the top hill stations of India and the world. The city itself is named after the Naini Lake which is situated in the center. The China peak is the highest peak in Nainital and is a trekker's delight. The other famous attractions here are Hanuman Garhi, snow view, Bhimtal, Sat Tal etc.
One of the most prized possessions of the Garhwal region, Chopta provides us with panoramic views of the Himalayas and other nearby areas. The other tourist attractions worth a visit here are Tungnath Shiva Temple, Gopeshwar that is famous for its refreshing climate, Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary - renowned for breeding musk deer. Ukhimath, is the winter abode of Lord Kedarnath.
A typical hill station, Mukteshwar has all the trappings added with it. Mukteshwar temple here is the central attraction that can be reached with stone stairs only. The temple sits at the height of 2315 and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Pauri has all the essential elements required for a picturesque hill station. It offers splendid views of snow capped Himalayas, beautiful valleys, rivers, forests and lively people. Pauri, apart from being an attractive tourism destination itself, mostly serves as a stopover for nearby destinations like Khirsu, the temple of Ghandiyal Devta, Adwani, Tara Kund etc.
Bounded by Himalayas in the north, Dehradun sits in the Shivalik range with the sacred river Ganga flowing in the east and Yamuna in the west. Dehradun is among the oldest cities in India and also a popular tourist destination. It is largely visited due to the beauty of the place as well as the presence of large number of religious and historical places in the city.

By Air : The state has two domestic airports in Uttarakhand; Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun and Pantnagar Airport in Udham Singh district. They connect to the major cities of India.
By Rail : Dehradun, Haridwar, Kathgodam, Rudrapur, Tanakpur are the most popular railway stations in the state. They connect to almost every part of the country.
By Road : Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) and Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) run various buses to the state and around. Tourists can choose from local to luxury buses as per their convenience.
